Necklift

Although the neck and face constitute one cosmetic unit, separate attention to the neck may be all that is necessary to achieve improvement in one’s appearance.

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery improves the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, and gives a rejuvenated appearance to the surrounding area of your eyes, making you look more rested and alert.

Brow Lift (Forehead Lift)

Also known as a forehead lift, a brow lift minimizes the creases that develop across the forehead, or those that occur high on the bridge of the nose; improves what are commonly referred to as frown lines; and repositions a low or sagging brow. Dr. Feins is familiar with many techniques and can individualize the procedure to meet your specific needs.

Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty)

Cosmetic nose surgery, also known as rhinoplasty, improves the appearance and proportion of your nose, enhancing facial harmony and self confidence. Surgery of the nose may also correct impaired breathing caused by structural abnormalities in the nose.

Transgendered Facial Surgery

Transgendered surgery involves cosmetic goals in an important and unique situation. Procedures include:

Brow lift
Temporal lift
Frontal bossing reduction osteotomy
Reduction osteotomy of the supra-orbital rims
Nasal tip refinement
Zygoma augmentation
Submalar augmentation
Submandibular liposuction

Neck lift
Face lift (often SMAS)
Platysma banding elimination
Otoplasty
Lip lift
Chin recontouring
Jaw recontouring
Adams Apple Reduction

Many of these procedures are also commonly carried out as part of routine cosmetic surgery (face lift, neck lift, etc) while some of them are specific to feminization (mandibular angle shaving, brow bossing reduction).

Transgender feminization is a uniquely focused set of surgical procedures which help move the patient closer to her goal. Although there are limits to what can be accomplished, Dr. Feins is sensitive to this community and is committed to individualizing a plan to help accomplish these goals.

Chin Surgery

Chin surgery, also known as mentoplasty, is a surgical procedure to reshape the chin either by enhancement with an implant or reduction surgery on the bone. Many times a plastic surgeon may recommend chin surgery to a patient having nasal surgery in order to achieve facial proportion, as the size of the chin may magnify or minimize the perceived size of the nose. Chin surgery helps provide a harmonious balance to your facial features so that you feel better about the way you look.

Injectables

There is a vast array of injectables available today. Injectable fillers can plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases and wrinkles, or improve the appearance of recessed scars. They can be used to erase wrinkles in the dermis or replace the volume in your face that has decreased with the years. Dr. Feins has many alternatives available including Botox, Radiesse and Prevelle Silk, and will help you select the ones to address your individual needs.

BOTOX Injections

Botox InjectionsThe cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, often referred to by its product name BOTOX, is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. The toxin blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. Studies have also suggested that BOTOX is effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes.

Other paralytic agents are coming on the market, and Dr. Feins will add them to his rejuvenating arsenal as their efficacy is established.

Radiesse

RadiesseWith aging, we lose volume in the face. Radiesse is an injectable filler that offers a non-surgical approach to shaping and contouring the face and restoring lost volume with immediate, long lasting results.

Its unique contouring ability allows Dr. Feins to treat large areas of the face in one procedure. Any form of facial contouring with Radiesse is performed as a non-surgical, minimally invasive out-patient procedure in our office.

Results are immediate and only require a few long-lasting treatments, which means Radiesse is also cost-effective saving you time and money. And while treatment results may vary, results typically last months longer with Radiesse as compared to other fillers.

For the first three months after injection, Radiesse initially performs as a filler substance by plumping up the skin. Then thanks to its collagen-generating properties, Radiesse actually stimulates new tissue development for extended correction for up to 12 to 24 months.* (*According to the manufacturer).

Radiesse also allows you to resume your daily activities almost immediately.

PREVELLE Silk

Prevelle SilkPREVELLE Silk is a colorless hyaluronic acid gel that contains a small quantity of a local anesthetic (lidocaine) to provide pain relief at the injection site. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the human body, which moisturizes (hydrates) and cushions the skin. PREVELLE Silk is naturally broken down by your body over time. Skin testing is not required.

After the initial injection an additional treatment, or touch up, may be needed 1 to 2 weeks later to achieve the desired level of correction. Over time PREVELLE Silk will be broken down naturally by your body, which is why you may want repeat treatments. In general, repeat treatments are needed within 3 to 6 months to maintain the desired result, but the timing of additional treatment varies from person to person.

You should ask Dr. Feins as to when make up can be applied.

Skin Resurfacing / Skin Rejuvenation

Skin Resurfacing is a general term referring to various techniques used to improve the skins appearance and reduce wrinkles. Energy is applied to the dermal layer of the skin to stimulate collagen production. This energy can come in various forms including laser energy, chemical energy known as chemical peels, and mechanical energy known as dermabrasion. Each technique of skin resurfacing has its advantages and disadvantages, and no single technique is right for all situations.

Collagen is the foundation protein in skin. Factors which cause collagen loss include age, genetics, environmental exposure and smoking. Skin resurfacing techniques stimulate collagen production helping to eliminate wrinkles and restore some of the lost dermal thickness.

Chemical Peel

Chemical peel uses a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. It is helpful for those individuals with facial blemishes, wrinkles and uneven skin pigmentation.

Traditional chemical peels using phenol, croton oil, trichloroacetic acid and other agents remain an important tool in the rejuvenation armamentarium. Chemical peels can stimulate significant collagen regeneration to drastically reduce facial wrinkling in the appropriate setting.

Dermabrasion / Dermaplaning

Dermabrasion and dermaplaning help to “refinish” the skin’s top layers through a method of controlled surgical scraping. The treatments soften the sharp edges of surface irregularities, giving the skin a smoother appearance.

Dermabrasion is most often used to improve the look of facial skin left scarred by accidents or previous surgery, or to smooth out fine facial wrinkles, such as those around the mouth. It’s also sometimes used to remove the pre-cancerous growths called keratoses. Dermaplaning is commonly used to treat deep acne scars.

Both dermabrasion and dermaplaning can be performed on small areas of skin or on the entire face. They can be used alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as facelift, scar removal or revision, or chemical peel.
